We have had so much going on lately - it's wonderful to have such a full life! Hopefully I can get caught up on some of the memories we've been making.
First, we had a wonderful visit with the boys' Aunt Amanda and sweet little cousin, Lilly (or, as Isaac says, "Liw-lly.") They came and spent a day with us in early November; we had a great time playing at the house, visiting a nearby park, and riding trikes with her in the front yard! We all cherished our time together, and it blessed my heart to see the boys really connect with them; they have continued to talk and ask about them since.
Although we have two trikes, the boys usually want the same one at the same time - especially when it's being pulled at top speed around the yard by their dad! This time it worked out great, since they picked the one with a little storage box on the back where Caedmon could perch.
Sweet Lilly was content to find a seat on the other tricycle and mostly watch the action, and although we did make some trips up and down the sidewalk, it was a much gentler ride than what the boys were enjoying.
Isaac has learned, in the last month or so, to really propel himself well on his little tricycle, and loves the freedom this gives him to motor up and down the sidewalk. I don't have any pictures yet, but Caedmon is now riding a bicycle with training wheels, so they both are on their own, which is really fun to watch despite the tugging I feel on my heartstrings to see them being so grown up and independent!
Isaac's other favorite pastimes right now include anything with a ball. He often greets his dad at the door with "Hey, Dad, let's play fetball! (football)" in his biggest voice. He is learning to catch, too, and if he has an excuse to dive into the grass or carpet when playing, all the better!
Caedmon continues to love drumming. It probably isn't the first thing to come to mind that he's pretending this fallen tree branch is a drum set, but he saves it off to the side of our yard and will frequently drag it out, select two "drumsticks," and have a little rock-out session, sometimes singing at the top of his lungs while playing. This branch has completely lost all its leaves, but he just thinks it's great fun. I love seeing his imagination, creativity, and skills developing!
